Shrine figure, "elek", bird head with
human features, used during harvest
and for funeral ceremonies. Elek is part of the family shrine, important for
purification ceremonies. It alone is
able to pursue witches.

Acquired in 1992 from an African art dealer, placing it
at 25 years old, at least.
