A mythical horned water serpent and its offspring are represented in this double carving by Salvador Romero, Cochiti. This fine-grained gray pueblo rock is an example of the natural stones that Salvador harvests from the pueblo grounds around his home. The water serpent is an important symbol in a land where the desert prevails.

This pair is 1 ½" high by 7 ¾" long. Look at it this way, you get two serpents for the price of one.
