This Australian Aboriginal art basket, hand-woven of pandanus fiber, is a loose weave to allow water or air to pass through the basket and around its contents.

Baskets have been the most important forms for storing and carring food and possessions among the essentially nomadic Australian Aboriginal people of the Central Desert.

14" in diameter x 11" from the base to the basket rim, 23" to the top of handle.

It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity as to its Australian Aboriginal origin.
