#E809 AFRICA, MALI Tribal Group: DOGON Mask, "satimbe",
face surmounted by a female with arms extended to right and left, with
left hand holding a ladle. The face is typoical of Dogon masks that replicate Dogon architecture with triangular eyeholes in deep vertical channels. Ears protrude slightly from each side of the face. 31" x 19" wide at the extended arms Age unknown, acquired in 1999 Please note: The left arm has been broken at the elbow and was subject to native repair. There also is a crack at the back of the face.
